I remember when we first started this site on MSN over six years ago. Dennis used to post once a week or so with this welcome heading.

Today I've approved a total of six new memberships to the GF forums here, and that's exciting. Since my schedule is seemingly getting back to something that resembles normal, I'm really looking forward to more activity in the forums as well as the chat rooms.

Maybe we should revisit the thread about when it's good for folks to try to schedule some chat times? Otherwise, if you are a new member or an old timer here, please pop in on the boards, maybe once a week (I know we are all busy, oh god, do I know!), and let's all keep in touch and keep this a thriving community.

It's good to know there are many more like us out there, each with his unique twist on his story of being a dad.

So, how 'bout it? Let's hear yours!

In welcoming new members, I tend to use a little bit of a template with information about us, who I am and who we are as the GF group. But the bulk of it is personalized in order to greet and welcome each new individual to our community.

Sigh... but alas I am sometimes a ninny and forget to change things. I think I welcomed a parent, saying that some of our dads have adopted, "like you" and yet that dad was a biological father who had never adopted.

Don't hit me, please. I am sure I did this to at least one new member this week. Whoever you are, please forgive my blunder. I hope you'll at least appreciate my intentions, and not feel that I am only writing impersonal form letters.
