Founding Father Host with the Most! ![]() |
While the "new GF" has been active for over a year, it really is just getting started. As we've posted already, many of us have had a very busy year. Two foot surgeries, a new home and new job have kept me from really obsessing and updating and keeping this kind of interactive site going the way I did in the early days of the original website, nearly five years ago now.
Here's the beginning of what we have planned: WEB HELP WITH GF: So in the spirit of "getting this bitch in the air" I'll be offering a weekly tutorial feature in the Website Help Forum. I'll also be emailing that out to all the members to keep us up to date with all the cool things these forums can do. WEEKLY CHAT SCHEDULE: Look for new upcoming Chat Schedules this weekend! I'm planning on a day time chat Monday. Any time better for you than another? I can't do it Monday evening due to a meeting. WEEKLY TOPIC:Be prepared for a revival of the old Topic of the Week. We are looking for suggestions. NEW MEMBER MAP: I've been looking into some new possibilities for a member map, similar to the old one from Bravenet. For now, why not update us on our Where in the World Are You thread? Private Forums: I bring up the topic due to a few issues, including the recent and past stalking of our members by exes, both male and female. I'll be interested in knowing your thoughts on this. Look for an upcoming post about this soon. New Links and Partnerships: In this day of world wide web, having links to and from quality sites with similar goals is essential, especially if we want to drive relevant traffic to Gay Fatherhood. We want gay dads to be able to find us, so I'll be linking with more sites, and probably adding a separate page for links, aside from those in the forums. There are gay fathers who have some very fine blogs out there that didn't exist when gayfatherhood.com first hit the web. And there are organizations like HRC and PFLAG who are frequented by gay parents. We hope to have our little home on the web featured in such pages more prominently very soon. Any suggestions? What sites do you find helpful? How did you find us? We want your feedback. You may have also noticed some returning former members from our msn days, including the dreaded Housekeeper. She's baa-aack. And who knows what shenanigans she'll be up to. Why don't you pop in and find out? Come visit Gay Fatherhood on the web, a resource, community and support for the gay dad. I am not young enough to know everything. - Oscar Wilde |
