Hey, guys! Happy New Year from the slow kid on the block. I've been reading a lot of posts from our newest members and some great posts from people we hadn't heard from in some time, so it's good to see the halls of this home on the net of ours ringing with activity lately.

I did a little updating on the registration page and restructured things, including the question required to prove you are not a bot or an advertising scam. Sigh... I kept noticing what looked like legitimate members with real names and email addresses sitting in the approval queue simply because they didn't see or understand the question. Then I realized it was my own fault because I didn't make answering the question a requirement. Instead it was optional.

Hence the confusion for new members. My apologies to all those recent members for whom being approved took so long.

Thanks for being here, guys and for being such great and loving dads! MUAH!

Thank you, Son of Walt. Waiting in line for anything can be a real drag. Just ask my kid.

Agreed. Oh, and here's something else. You dads might all want to check your profile pages, and each others! I added a few optional questions about interests and a section where you could write a little biography if you want.

Thanks to that addition, I know right off the bat that our newest member (this morning) "Y" likes running, scuba diving, and horses! How cool is that. I never went scuba diving, but I love to snorkel.

Anyway, just trying to make the place more usable and interesting. In that vein, I have also added the old "Suggestion Box" down below under the Odds and Ends category, as well as a place called "The Archives" where Vince, Smokey and I hope to repost some oldies but goodies from the message boards that are still relevant. Oh, and I've also brought back the old "Website Help" forum, since we are getting many new members lately. Feel free to use it to ask questions about how the forums work, where things are, whatever. Or, even better, feel free to post there whenever you discover something new here that you hadn't found before.

The best way to explore these hallowed GF halls is just to keep clicking around and see where th at takes you. Have fun!

Oh! And Handsome, here's a little poem I like about standing in line:
quote:
Sometimes i feel
like a priest
in a fish and chip queue,
quietly wondering
as the vinegar runs through,
what must it be like
to buy supper for two.

Son of Walt,
Thank you. It wouldn't be the first time I've walked home in the pouring rain while eating fish and chips. Alone. Pass the ketchup.
