As I promised, here is the email I sent today: (with a few editorial changes)

Thanks to the Webguy, we now have our logo and links back on top of the forums. Yeah! There are still a few issues to deal with, but we are getting there.

Thanks again for the recent donations to keep the site running. Before I go much further, I'd like to consider some things. We made one change almost, what, two years ago? But now I think we need to do some other things. I'm interested in your thoughts here.

When we moved from MSN some time ago, we were hoping to get away from banner adverts and kind of make the place our own. The blogging craze was just getting into full swing then so we also added a blog to try to boost traffic.

I still think that web based communities, list serves and forums are viable and needed, but I think things can be better integrated now than what we first envisioned.

Our activity on the message boards doesn't always come up to what we'd like to see and I wonder how much of that is due to a lack of user-friendliness that we saw on MSN. I think we can better promote our site and get more traffic from dads who could use a web home like ours, but I do wonder if, professional and slick as it looks, GF is a little too big and intimidating for our visitors and potential members right now.

I certainly can tell you that as the founder and designer, I could use a little more cut and paste and click and drag in my life to make things simpler. I don't have the time to be a techie and I am wondering if simplifying things might be in store, which could mean a change of web hosts again.

What are your thoughts? Vince, I was hoping to discuss this with you when you called before we lost signal, so I hope you don't mind my tossing it out to the whole crowd of us like this. I am just curious about it.

What are your thoughts, guys? 1. Could we find an easier to use host (both for designing and using)? 2. Could we find it for less cost? 3. Could we boost more traffic and encourage more activity in another venue?

I am not young enough to know everything.
