We talk about some sensitive issues, like sex and relationships. It just goes along with being a Dad, doesn't it? But we are family friendly, which means keep it at least PG 13.

We are not professional counselors. We are a social group, here to encourage and support each other, and occasionally to nudge one another, in order to keep us on track as good parents and men of integrity (note guideline #4 below).

Guidelines:

Keep the following in mind for all activity on GayFatherhood.com.

1. Some of our topics might be considered "mature", yet we remain a family oriented site; safe for our kids and worthy of sharing with family and friends (Smokey's rule of thumb; "Would I be comfortable with my 15 year-old daughter reading this?" Of course she's 18 now, but that's beside the point.).

2. We encourage safe use of the net and discourage the public use of personal information. Any website where you type your name, street address, email, etc. can be found with a simple Google search. If privacy is a concern, use a private, separate email address.

3. Have fun and enjoy each other!
a. We are not a news group, though we may post some relevant issues from the news. We are more personal.
b. You'll meet many new and interesting people, but we're not a personals site. Be respectful.

4. We will disagree, and sometimes feel the need to speak man-to-man and to the point. When we do, we will always show respect for one another, with care and compassion as our motivators.

6. Please honor our purpose, and requirements for membership as stated on the Home Page.

Banning and Deleting:
Posts that are in violation of the guidelines are deleted and the poster may find himself banned, or simply warned. If you are contacted by a manager for guideline purposes, don't take it personally. Unproductive bitch sessions(even by us) are outside the bounds of our objectives, so they rarely remain on the boards for long. Understand that we are trying to keep the place safe, clean and on target with our purpose.

Posting of Links:
We are strictly non-commercial, and exist for the purpose of support and information for gay fathers, not for the promotion of products or services. Please remember to abide by the following:

- Personal links to blogs, journals, family sites are permitted as long as material is within guidelines of GF.

- Feel free to link to book dealers in the Books, so long as they do not connect to inappropriate material (see Guideline #1)

- Keep links to news or information articles to a tasteful minimum. Please only relevant articles from reputable sources (AP, CNN, BBC, etc).

- We reserve the right to determine whether or not a link should remain on GF, and may remove it if we do not feel it is in the spirit of our group.

- I'm still learning what bandwidth theft is. But if you know what it is, don't do it. If you don't know what it is, find out and then explain it to me.
