Have any of you dads heard about "attachment parenting"/"attachment theory"? I've been reading "The Attachment Parenting Book" by William Sears, M.D. and Martha Sears, R.N. and it's pretty good stuff. Talks about many of the essentials of promoting a good relationship with your child from the time the baby is born. Includes thought on bedsharing, carrying the baby in a baby sling as opposed to leaving him/her in a playpen, importance of birth bonding, balance and boundaries... a very humanistic, nurturing approach to raising a child. It's basically in contrary to the idea that a parent should let the child "cry it out." Loving the book.
