Hi Guys,

So Xmas and the NY have come and gone again, I got legally hitched to my partner David love and finally the builders have moved out of our house clapping and a rather gorgeous indulgent bathroom has been finished.

In barely four weeks my son will be 16...lol and I will be 45 Eeker where does the time go? This is one of the significant milestones in his life....HE thinks!!!I had to explain that sure he could leave school and work but as for driving/marriage/sex/drinking etc etc lol he needs another year under his belt before he can really think of himself as legally independent...not that he wants to make any drastic changes in any of our lives.Just that he can't wait to be 'grown up' lol whatever that really is. Funny thing is I think we all experienced that, wanting to be 18....21..but it isn't long before we wish we were younger again sigh

I on the otherhand will be 45, crikey, 5 years and it will be the big 50, and yet in many ways a feel the same as when I was 30...lol is that why I married a 30 yr old guy!!! ok lets not go there. I don't want to be nearly 50, and in some ways I don't want my son to grow up either. I love him as a kid, can protect him, still in some ways determine his path in life. Soon that will be gone. Sure I want him to have his own life, be strong, sucessful, independant, his own man....but..well you know.

Ok I'm starting to depress myself now...lol,so what to get a 16 year old for his birthday...presents...aaaggghhh...lol

Cheerio for now...Vincent..xx

Well.......he is 18 yr today!!! How time flies, he is finishing college in a couple of months time or so, talking about careers he wants to pursue, is getting a car and going steady with his g/f. So it was nice when I asked him which resturant he wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate...he asked me to cook him his favourite home cooked dinner instead cheers

He has palns or a number of celebrations with friends over the course of this week and weekend, and why not, this is pretty much the big one afterall. legally here in the UK he is an adult and there is little if anything he can't do if he wants to. Happily, luckily he still lives with us, listens and talks, gets on well....for now.

Cheerio....for now ...Vincent...xx

WOW !!!

Congratulations that you have made it to have a 18 y.o. son !!!

Believe me....I know from experience....they don't ever feel like adults...and you will always want to care an protect him.

My oldest is living in New York. He's 25 now and I can barely go a day without texting / IMing or talking to him !! Thank goodness he loves me and humors the "ole man" and chats with me !!

In less than 2 years, my middle child will be 18...Just like you...where does the time go !!
