Greetings Dads,

Okay, as gay men, you should know that's the title of the torch song from the movie version of Cabaret... and if you don't, that's okay, too... lol....

After nearly 5 years (well, 3 if you minus out the good ex I didn't truly appreciate and let go, and the bad ex I should have never hocked myself to the teeth for, only to have him walk out on me... not that I'm bitter or anything... ) it seems I've met a truly sweet, very good, very handsome and very loving man. I won't make the same mistakes of the past, but this sure feels absolutely right and I'm truly smitten with him. There are issues, of course... we're not that far from each other, but with my two jobs and his familial obligations, we don't get to see each other nearly as often as we'd like.

As mature (okay, old if you like... lol... but, dammit, I'm 48 and I put on a snowman costume every weekend... how can I be old if I do that!!!) men we're of the same mind about our future and what we want. And we're also of one mind about how unnecessary gay drama needs to be in our lives.

Our first date was truly magical... like having met each other's best friend... and, god, we laugh... we have so much fun with each other...

And after the first date, we talked on the phone forever and, it being a rare weekend off for me that also included a wedding of a dear friend, I dared to ask him to come with me... and he agreed!!!! LOL... now this man has said to me that he's not really out (to family and at work, his friends all know). I warned him that if he was seen with me, it would be a given that we were together... LOL... Well, Mr. Closet Case openly held my hand, kissed me and pulled me onto the dance floor for a coupla slow dances... gawd, he's so sweet, and funny and not just a little quirky... hee hee. LOL... I was so amazed when the wedding photographer took a picture of us dancing... It's not the greatest pic, but I'm going to get a copy of it, if nothing else, it will be a wonderful reminder of a wonderful night... and I'm hoping it will be much more...

And, I'm sorry guys, but we are the cutest gay couple ever... bar none!!!

We need more time, of course... but I'm so certain of him... and appreciate and enjoy him more every single day...

Ironically, my buddy Paul (a former member from the MSN group) seems to have found his love as well... at almost exactly the same time....wish us luck!!!
