Well, I don't know. But we could contact him. I did a google search on OUT Magazine and Steve Weinstein and found that someone by that name has written articles for them before, like this one about Luther Vandross.

It could be legit. Looks like his deadline is the 25th... Odd that he has an AOL address though... But I suppose he is a freelancer.

I'm going to email him and see what happens.

My friend Vincent posted on my web forum that you were looking to do interviews with modern gay dads. We run a little online community called GayFatherhood.com, a group that I originally began on MSN over six years ago. Since then I have personally met and become life-long friends with some of these great dads, like Vincent from Northern Ireland, Keith from Fredrick Maryland.

I believe you could find a wealth of information for your article in the lives of these men. Gay Fatherhood is populated by some superb dads from all over the world, from Canada to East and West Coast, as well as Europe, Australia... well, just everywhere it seems.

I talked to this gentleman on the phone yesterday and he's completely legit (I know we sometimes have concerns about who is for real online).

He is still putting the article for OUT Magazine together and would like to talk to more gay dads, especially ones who have become dads recently, and especially in the US. The main thrust of his article seems to be that while a few years back, a baby carriage was seen as the latest gay couple's fashion accessory, the face of gay parenting is changing in this country, and that gay dads don't all fit into the same mode that the advertisers portray.

We certainly know here that gay fathers come in all shapes and sizes and from all backgrounds, so here is his contact info again. I encourage you to contact him for the article, especially if you have adopted recently, but whatever your road to fatherhood was, let's represent it. Hmmm... Interesting, he took nearly a month to write me back the first time, but was eager for my call when he emailed me his number. Maybe he's finished his story already and has turned to other things.
