Actually, Bill and I started talking seriously about our own plans to get married.

We've decided that we've no real reason to stay in our own locality for UK Civil Partnership (when they come into effect in December '05). Bill's family wouldn't be travelling down from Scotland, anyway

and:

We're planning on a holiday to Ontario next summer, anyway. I've got loads of family around Toronto and the Niagara region that were very sorry that they couldn't meet Bill when I went over for my twin brother's wedding this May. So last night we decided that, if at all possible, we're going to get married in TO next summer.

So, who here is good with a needle and thread? I need to find someone to sew me a dress. Big Grin

James

I've always been a fan of Norman Rockwell's. His Saturday Evening Post covers were phenomenal, I think. Like this one, "The Marriage License":

But then, there's the 21st century version:

Hey Moose...soz James...lol,

Great to hear the plans you guys have, unfortunately we can't be there...no..no...I have to put my foot down, I'm sorry but I am doing my hair that day Wink I hope you guys have a fantastic family time. David and I intend to register in BELFAST...yeah I know not so romantic sounding as your location hun....well we hope unless the local narrow minded politicans put the dampers on it and delay the whole thing, but as you know James it will be law by then so we hope to register the knot we tied in Nov 2003 before Xmas...sigh. Any other guys going to get married/have a legal civil ceremony/ registration music cloudnine
I hope the trend set recently by the Uk..Canada.. Spain and other States restores the dignity, equality and basic human rights to all the gay commuity around the world that they have been so harshly denied for generations.

Cheerio for now...Vincent..xx

Hola Boys,

Ok...some good news, I contacted the registry office in Belfast yesterday, got this lovely helpful guy who happily chatted about the plans for same sex civil partnerships in December(he referred to it as marriage throughout the conversation!!). Today the post arrived with pre-registration information and a bunch of positve stuff about the City Hall building as a venue. So looks like David and I will tie the knot(for a second time)in December..about 4-5 days before Xmas....Yipeee cheers2

So guys, I know it's not for all, and some of you have already done this or had your own form of 'ceremony' like we did back in 2003 when we didn't need...or have the right to, official endorsement....so lets hear about what you did...might do....plan for...or have you been to someone else's gay wedding lately?

Cheerio for now Vincent...xx

Dwight and I are considering it. We had a very private comittment ceremony (just the 2 of us!) for a ring exchange, we will see... I am enjoying being free from that tie right now... I was married to my EX for 12 years...

Take care, eh?
