Something I've been thinking about is the idea that we can and should take a step out of the ordinary and perhaps discuss other things in our lives/world outside of the established box of being 1) Fathers and 2) Gay (nothing meant by the order of the two, I think we've already been down that long path, anway).

There are many other things in our lives that I think demand attention and certainly discussions about our communities, our cities, countries and the world in many ways should be just as important as discussions about our sexuality or our relationships with the ex, families, etc.

I'm suggesting that we take a look at what we each can do to improve our world and one step I think in the right direction is to start talking. Talking oftentimes leads to ideas which can lead to action and results.

I'll start by writing something that I believe is an important piece of legislation. Remember this is the forum to talk about politics, news and current events. Let's use it!

Oh and one more thing, I know that we're a global community and thus some things may not always be of interest necessarily to everyone everywhere.

However this shouldn't hinder us from posting. So go ahead and post all those comments about the Canadian Curling Championships, eh? shiver

Excellent point, Jim. Perhaps this is a blind spot that I've unwittingly created. In our attempts to be relevant and on-topic, is it possible that we've led everyone to believe that unless the words "gay" or "father" are in the post, it doesn't belong here?

Truth is, we are all pretty much average men, gay or not. We have tons of concerns in our lives that we could talk about here. So, take a hint from Jim here. Don't think that you have nothing to say to the group.

Go ahead, pipe up about anything. We haven't talked about it in a while, but we even have a section about what you are reading currently. And, lol, NO, it doesn't need to be "gay" literature at all. Just whatever is on your mind.

I look forward to this sparking some more varied discussion. We can still be about support and all that while talking about the whole of our lives, right?
