Things at the new house have been progressing and I sincerely apologize for not being present here on GF enough lately. Instead of being too busy to talk, I'll try to remember to keep showing and telling what's up in our family.

You try to do the same, okay?

The boys have helped me paint (okay, Brian STAIN) the fence around our backyard garden.

Mr. Robin thought it was fine the way it was...


And this young goldfinch didn't seem to mind...


But we started in with the paint brushes anyway...


And the final product looks quite nice, despite the boys' insistence that it looks "orange," rather than cedar (they may be right-- shhh... don't tell Brian).


I think they enjoyed it, although they kept talking Tom Sawyer-like, wondering if they could convince a neighbor kid that painting was fun and maybe get him to pay them for the privilege.
