Not THAT lifestyle. LOL My eating lifestyle. I visited Ohio in December and stepped on the scales while I was there. I knew I was a had gained some weight, and my clothes weren't fitting well, but I didn't expect to see myself 3 pounds under my highest weight ever. Talk about putting a damper on the festivities of being home!

So I have started trying to change my habits. First I quit drinking pop/sodas/colas (depending on your local lingo wave). Next I started to cut out sugars - no doughnuts for breakfast, no candy bars for lunch, no zingers for snacks. Definitely an all-time emotional low for me as I am an avid sweettooth.

Recently I have been searching the web looking for where my weight should be at, how many calories should I eat, could I find a way to do the weightwatcher program without paying for it. You know the usual free things. Big Grin

I came across a website... www.sparkpeople.com It's awesome. It is totally free and sets you up for a life change - not a diet. You start out with little goals to change, all the while logging the food you eat. It keeps track of calories, carbs, fat and protein. After setting your weight loss goals, it helps you set up a calorie range and an exercise plan. It even helps those people who are underweight.

What's also great is the fact that there is a gay men's group there with boards for thoughts, questions, recipes, motivation, etc. I will definitely be sharing about GF there. I haven't found any posts that discuss their children, but I know that some guys on there must have them.

Anyway... here's to me changing my life in a positive way! cheers I don't have a scale, but I have already started to notice my clothes fitting better. My goal is to lose my 30 pounds before I head back to Ohio.

Yay me! LOL clapping

Congrats and good luck, Lew! I was checking out the Sparkpeople website and it looks really good. I am a bit over what I should be, at least my pants feel it. lol. Basically, I just want to go back two inches and be comfortable (so... three inches, maybe?)

Two surgeries have made me lax. Thanks for the inspiration!

This is a good example of why it's a good idea to have a junk email account where you can sign up for sites like that and if it generates more junk, it won't inundate your good real personal email account with unnecessary emails. There are lots of options for creating a free email account at hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc....

But thanks for the good suggestion Lew!

Cheers,

I checked out the Site Advisor, and like everyone that posted a comment there, I disagree with the rating - the only emails I get are what I have agreed to.

Anyway, I like the site and find it motivating. Here's too losing more weight! cheers
