I was sent this by a friend, note sure if it is a chain thing or for real but will take it on trust and share it here. love

This is a poem written by a teenager with cancer

She wants to see how many people get her poem.

It is quite a poem.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital. It was sent by her doctor.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You'd better slow down - don't dance so fast.

Time is short - the music won't last.

Do you run through each day- -on the fly?

When you ask “How are you?” - do you hear the reply?

When the day is done - do you lie in your bed?

With the next hundred chores - running through your head?

You'd better slow down - don't dance so fast.

Time is short - the music won't last.

Ever told your child - We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste - Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time to call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down - don't dance so fast.

Time is short - the music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....thrown away.

Life is not a race, do take it slower

Hear the music - before the song is over.

Hi Vince,

Real or not I get her peom. My son had cancer at the age of 10 and is now doing better, and I saw in him a lot of what she says in her peom. Life is too short and must enjoy the time we have, and slow our pace down to do it. We may not be here tommorow, live for today, as it may be your last.

Take care, Joel

Hey Joel,

My lad is 16 now, health wise he has generally been lucky and I thank....well I am daily grateful for that. I nearly lost him in a really shocking horse riding accident three years ago, the thought of that day still sickens me to the core. So I learned a lesson about cherishing the moment too.

I am glad to hear that your boy is doing better and I trust the future is looking great for him and your family. The lives and experiences that our children must deal with impact on us as parents in a way that if it happened to us we wouldn't be so affected by. How is he dealing with everything....and what age is he now.

Thanks for reminding me....us of our good luck in life and the need to enjoy evey moment with our kids, deal with all they bring to the table but try and always end the day with a heartfelt hug and a kiss.

Cheerio for now....Vincent...xx
