While I was in Winnipeg, Cody and me read this book together each night, readng a chapter. We took turns.

We found out a very interesting fact that Killer Whales or 'Orca' as we also know them by, are actually not whales at all.. but a member of the dolphin family. I did some further research and found that they are the only meat eating 'whale' in the world, and there has been only one attack on humans ever recorded.

We both enjoyed the book and I love this quiet time with Cody.

Take care, eh?

My son has just finished reading all of David Eddings books...The Belgariad/Malloreon/Elenium and Tamuli series. He really enjoyed them, but now hasn't got another author to attract his attention. He is an avid reader and likes sci-fi...well more fantasy stuff really. He has loved and devoured Tolkien/Pullman/Pratchett/Jordan and Horwood, so any suggestions for a young guy coming 16?

Cheerio for now...Vincent...x

Ok... so this is a little late in coming, but I would also suggest Anne McCaffrey's books. She has some great mixes of sci fi and fantasy. Some of my favorites that I have read numerous times are the Dragonriders of Pern series. Who wouldn't want to fly on a dragon and "teleport" to almost any location on their world? It was a great place for me to escape to then and still today.

She also has written/co-wrote other books which actually integrate sci fi and fantasy - hi tech and magic - robots and mythical beasts. One of my favorites - able to entertain me as an teen, yet still give me the plot to satisfy me as an adult.

Just my 2 cents! Smiler
