Unpacked the Suitcase
Picture of MR. Bill
Posted
Just a "hello" note. I'm a 50 year old guy, widowed two years. My marriage had become an arrangement for some 10 years before my wife died (at Christmas 2004) and I was out to my kids for a while. While I work construction (carpentry/remodeling, currently on log homes fashionable in these here parts)(and a shocking number of them are poorly constructed)I have a 20 year career as a artist, with some major commsissions (most recently for the Atlanta Braves baseball team, in 2000). My late wife's illness (and insanity) made it necessary to get a 'real job'...
My kids are my daughter Sarah(in college, and finally about to move into campus housing at Kennesaw St. University) and two sons, Ross and David (the foster kid) both 15. We also have a couple of kids who are estranged from their parents living with us..
My boyfriend doesn't live with us. I met him working on his his great (if modest) art and craft style house home on 20 mountain acres. He just retired as senior field engineer for a certain elevator company, and we spend every other weekend together.
What else? I'm big (280lbs, 6'2" work out)butch, bright, and incurably bucholic. I'm a furry woodland creature in his native environment. I do community theatre when we can (recently did "War of the Worlds" as a radio play on a period set, and was Zombie #1 in "Night of the Living Dead" (with son Ross). Love and peace guys.

OMG, just ask Smokey about MY typos...

You'll feel better, instantly.

Welcome to the group! I think you may be the closest we have to a lumberjack in the group... sorry, my little facination with that Monty Python song. Vincent, please forgive me!

Anywho, make yourself at home, Mr. Bill. And thanks for the great introduction!

Yours,
David

Well, curiously, after cutting down and cutting up (for firewood) two trees that were threatening his house, I remarked to the BF "You know we did all this and never once launched into 'the Lumberjack Song'." He said" there's time for fancy get up later.."
I'm a Python fan, with the series on DVD and too many routines memorized, to quote at inappropriate times...Their absurdity becomes more, uh, valid all the time.
