Hey There guys

just surfing the web and I cam acorss your site... I'm looking to create something similar myself so is quite interesting to find this.

Well, about me... well I'm 19 and live in Edinburgh, Scotland (Beautiful place!) I'm a student at Napier Uiversity. My partner is John.. we're very much in the begining of our relationship. John's 22 and is also a student studying Health Science.

I came out at school when I was 15, and then to various people a year or two after that... and now I'm just me.

For me being gay is hard... well its not but it is. The reality of it has only starting to strike me this year. I'm not comfrotable talking about it. But the kids thing is the biggest issue for me. But anyways, thats getting to deep too soon.

Anyway, here's to the future.

Edinburgh...that's just an hour or so away from here in Belfast N Ireland!!! I am glad to hear you talk about being out, having a man in your life...albeit with difficulties....we can all appreciate that whilst being gay is fabulous, well some days it is just hard work!! What I am not certain about is why you have joined GayFatherhood.com. You say it is a big issue for you and you want to start a group similar to our one. Are you a father....has John fathered a child...are you guys already talking about having a child..adopting etc? We would be glad to hear what you have to say re the issue of being gay and parenting...so let us know what t he bizz is with you.

You will find a very supportive and honest bunch of gay men here who love kids, no matter how they have become involved in parenting.

I've joined gayfatherhood to exchange ideas and see how other gay people like myself have had children. Neither John or I have had children, though I would like some in the near future and John wants to wait 5 or 6 years (bearing in mind we have only just entered our relationship).
Having kids young was always something I wanted to do... I have 5 nieces and nephew who I love dearly and get on superbly with them.
As you say, being gay comes with difficulties and having babies is one of them... So i'm here looking for ideas, information, support or what-ever...

Welcome, Adam. Good to have a prospective father on board. I think it helps restore some hope for some to know that there are gay guys who are actually interested in being a parent!

This group just recently made a move from an msn format so we are still getting our gears going. As Vince said, you will find many great dads here and hopefully glean some wisdom and pass on some encouragement as well. Look forward to talking more with you and learning how your story develops with your new bf.
