Hi guys. Some of you may know me from the other board as NYCDad. My partner Derek and I are in the process of relocating to Miami and hence I thought I should change my screen name. I am now DaddyBear-

I have two sons 12 and 9 that live with their mom. My partner and I have them every other weekend and whenever we can add to that including a few weeks in the summer and winter. They are the most incredible kids in the world. So well adjusted, loving and smart.

This summer we are once again going on the R Family cruise. We went last year, and it was the most amazing experience. Decided to do it again. We leave on Sunday the 10.

Last year we had a marriage service of faith on the ship- this year on the precise anniversary date of that blessed event we shall be married civilly in Nova Scotia, Canada. So exciting for us to be able to do this!

I don't always get to be as active here as I may like, but I do stop in and keep tabs on everyone! Hope to see/speak/hear/chat you soon.

It is a great age- although I was once the smartest man on earth, who knew everything and had all the answers, and am slowly becoming the one who doesn't really know a thing.

Yeah, I didn't go through that loss of intelligence so much with my first boy, just a little, but I see it begining with the 11 year old. I guess we shouldn't worry. My dad knew nothing when I was 16, but boy... by the time I turned 24 or so... he just seemed to grow and grow in wisdom. I was amazed at how much he knew. And now that I find myself acting just like my dad?... Heck, I'd say the man was a bloody genius!

David, I know it gets better again... but it is fun to watch them grow up- I am soooo proud of them. Matt (the big one- 12) is going to be a student ambassador and is travelling to England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales for two weeks with 40 other students the day we get back from the cruise- he worked very hard to be selected and to prepare for the trip. (Proud dad moment here...)
