Hi, my name is Stephen. I am an openly gay man from Australia, who has lived and worked in Indonesia since 1999. In December 2000 I took on care of a three day old baby boy whose mother didn't want him. His name is Oliver and he is now 7 years old. He has lived with me full time since he was one year old. In order to become his legal guardian I have gone through many scenarios that constitute enough material for several novels. In the year 2000 I had this insane urge to father a child but not the conventional way. Believe me - nothing about the story of my son and me is conventional. I would die for this child even though I am not his biological father and I will ensure he has the kind of life that most Indonesian children can only ever dream of. I wonder are there any other men in the same situation as me? I have done everything a woman can do for this child except give birth to him and breast feed him. Alone too.....
