Hey, no problem! Sorry you couldn't make it. I'm thinking of maybe a Monday lunch chat. I'll be working at the restaurant all weekend, so I probably won't be online much until Monday. More on that soon.

I'll be at work so I won't be able to join the Monday Lunch chat...if you do it then. I might just have to catch up with you guys the next time you do it. I'm interested in geting to know you guys out there.

What type of restaurant do you work for???

I manage for a steak and rib place. It's a franchise and not maybe quite as much fun as the privately owned one I used to manage, but the food is excellent and the beer and wine lists are pretty good.

But I'm giving serious thought to getting out of the restaurant biz. It's been seven years now and I want my weekends back!

I'm actually thinking about getting into the culinary field...not sure yet when and how...but definitely want to pursue it.

Oh, it can be a fun business to be in. Some of the hardest work I've done in my life, and the adrenaline rush of a busy night run well is addictive.

I just think that for me, I'd rather cook at home and have wine and drinks with my own friends and family on a Saturday night from now on. I want my weekends and my evenings back.

I am devising a plan to make that happen. I'll let you know how it goes.
